This call required great trust and faith on the part of Abram (later named Abraham by God) and his wife, Sarah. This story of faith involves leaving behind family, moving to a foreign land, and trusting God when He promised Abraham his descendants would be as numerous as the stars in the sky (Genesis 15:5), even though Sarah was past her child-bearing years. To remain faithful to God, God had to be the center of their lives.
